New to the Volvo lineup for 2022 is the C40 Recharge, an all-electric subcompact crossover that joins the mechanically similar XC40 Recharge as the brand’s second pure electric model.

Available Trims
Volvo offers the C40 in a single trim called P8 eAWD Ultimate with two electric motors providing all-wheel traction.
Standard Features
Volvo equips the C40 with a heated steering wheel, two-zone A/C, a 12.0-inch digital driver display, auto-dimming rearview mirrors, a panoramic roof, heated/power-adjustable front seats, heated rear seats, a 13-speaker stereo, and wireless phone charging. Outside, there are heated windshield washer nozzles, fog lights, 20-inch wheels, power-folding mirrors, and a power tailgate.
Also included is a suite of driver safety assists comprising 360-degree cameras, park assist, lane keeping aid, oncoming lane mitigation, blind spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and the Pilot assist highway driving system.
Fuel Economy
Volvo’s fuel consumption ratings for the C40 are 2.5/2.9 Le/100 km (city/highway), with estimated driving range of 364 km.
Competition
Among the C40’s chief competitors are the Jaguar I-Pace, Tesla Model Y, Genesis GV60, and Volvo’s own XC40 Recharge.
